About SleepVerdict

SleepVerdict is run by Nathan Deeble, from a small office on the south coast of England. The editorial “we” you read across the site is deliberate: this is a one-person operation, paying for sleep products out of our own pocket, testing them on our own bed, and committing to a verdict per product. We'd rather under-claim than fake a team.

Most “best mattress” or “best sleep tracker” content online is hype-driven filler, often with fabricated “hands-on” claims and a thinly disguised affiliate dump at the bottom. SleepVerdict does the opposite. Every guide aggregates what named publications and real users actually report, verifies current pricing in GBP against each vendor's own page, and ends with a recommendation we'll stand behind — decided before we ever look at commission rates.

We label every guide Researched until we've genuinely sat down and used the product long enough to write about it honestly — at which point it becomes Tested with a fresh verified date. For supplements specifically, we use research-led framing only (citing peer-reviewed studies, named clinicians, or veterinary literature) rather than first-person efficacy stories, because UK ASA / MHRA rules treat personal supplement-efficacy claims as medical claims.

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to buy that product, the vendor may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. The vendors we currently have, or apply for, affiliate relationships with include UK mattress-in-a-box brands (Emma, Simba, Otty, Eve, Nectar), sleep-tracker companies (Oura, Whoop, Eight Sleep), bedding makers, sleep-environment brands, and others named in individual guides.

Three rules we don't bend:

  • Recommendation first, commission second. The shortlist for every guide is decided before we look at commission rates. We won't move a worse product above a better one because it pays more, and we won't add a product to a guide just because it has an affiliate programme.
  • No paid placement. Vendors do not pay us for inclusion, position, or favourable wording. If that ever changes, it'll be labelled clearly as a sponsored post — not buried inside a normal review.
  • Honest evidence labels. We say Researched when we've aggregated named reviewers and real users; we say Tested only when we've actually slept on the mattress, worn the tracker, lived with the product. The two are not the same and we won't pretend otherwise.

All outbound affiliate links route through our internal /go/… URLs and carry rel="sponsored nofollow", so the raw affiliate URLs are never displayed in the interface. This complies with UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) guidance on identifiable affiliate marketing and with the US Federal Trade Commission's endorsement rules.
